Milo De Angelis, jury award, star border. The thirteenth edition of “ChiassoLetteraria”, which takes place from 2 to the 6 May 2018 in Chiasso, is entitled TABOO, theme that will be declined in its literary meanings, artistic, psychological, socio-cultural and political. The concept of taboo has an ambivalent character designating persons, objects, places or behavior worthy of attention and respect or potential contaminants, and to avoid. Between the sacred and the profane, between pure and impure, there is no culture that is being faced with the concept of liminal taboos.
Women writers and international guest writers will lead us into the fascinating world of taboos and unspeakable: Dany Laferrière will lead us with the skill that is proper in the writer's kitchen and taboos that the writer has to face; Jan Brokken will talk about political and aesthetic taboos with which the artistic avant-garde in Russia are compared. The voice of Milo De Angelis, among the major European poets, vibrate in taboos that poetry is called to break to maintain its vocation of authenticity; while Donatella Di Pietrantonio will take us to the heart of family taboos, those taboos able to score a lifetime. If you plunge Tom Drury, empathy with the great writer, in taboo rooted in rural communities in the American Midwest, Alberto Nessi will lead with a light step along the path of the little big taboos that mark the life on the frontier. The other focus will decline strongly and consistency thanks to Davide Enia, that will make us confront taboos that humanity is called to fight to truly be said that, e Max Lobe, that will show us with an irony outspoken taboo subject of which is the "stranger" in the difficult path of integration. Since its geopolitical observatory, Loretta Napoleoni will reveal the secrets that govern the dynamics of organized crime, terrorism and human trafficking. With Burhan Sönmez go down without compromise to the heart of the taboo of silence and censorship, those that the writer must overcome to tell the truth, even at the cost of being imprisoned or tortured. Other taboos are the ones on which we will make careful anthropologist Marino Niola, who will speak on totems and taboos of food tribes. Finally, or perhaps better to begin, psychoanalyst and writer Massimo Recalcati will reveal the deep taboos that simultaneously agitate and structure our psyche and the collective imagination. If every taboo has its own story, and each story its taboos, ChiassoLetteraria to be the opportunity for them to hear the voice of some great writers and writers.
A special area will be given to Swiss literature with some appointments: Max Lobe, Swiss author of Cameroonian origin. His novels deal with themes such as homosexuality, immigration, Racism and give us an ironic portrait of Switzerland and its less noble sides. Nel 2017, with Confidences, Lobe was awarded the Prix Ahmadou Kourouma, while in 2018 Salerno Book Award in Europe 2018. Three young Swiss writers, representing the three linguistic and cultural regions of Switzerland will intervene on the issue of relations (and taboos) family: Julia Weber (Everything is always beautiful), Lolvé Tillmanns (The sons), Sibilla De Stefani (The innocent last).
It will also introduce a preview of the new collection of stories by Alberto Nessi (The literary cities. Italian Switzerland), which invites us to follow him on his walks to the discovery of small literary great wonders of this land border.
